forever is today

I've just discovered a beautiful new blog called Forever is Today, written by Hilda Grahnat, a 23 year old student living in Sweden. Her apartment is probably my ideal place to live - vintage collections of clocks, old typewriters, vinyl on the wall and just check out her collection of old cameras!

Hurray for Fffriday

I haven't been a great blog updater lately but here is a picture to celebrate it being the weekend! This weekend I'm throwing a kids-style party for my birthday, involving pass the parcel, balloons, hula hooping and cheese & pineapple on sticks! Joy! ~ image via fffound

The best birthday..

I've had a busy past week - went to see Flight of the Conchords live, saw Pavement at ATP, went a lovely walk down Minehead beach and finally yesterday had a lovely birthday which ended with my own mini festival!

Me and Tom were meant to see Jeffrey Lewis live in Bristol but when that got cancelled Tom decided to put on a show as Jeffrey just for me! And the headline act was none other than Sufjan Stevens! I loved it. And got a new little friend called Frank who danced along to the songs with me..

Jason Schwartzman Polaroids

You probably recognise Jason Schwartzman from films like Rushmore or the Darjeeling Limited, but I recently found out he also releases music under the title Coconut Records. I just read that along with the release of his debut album Nighttiming Schwartzman included real polaroids with several CD's - how great would it be to open up your album and get a free polaroid inside?! They can be seen here.

Another weekend..

Lovely flowers and a polaroid...(Think 'roid week has just finished but this is my first one in a while!)

I went home to fetch two of my fave DVDs...yessss.. (Corey Feldman is my hero)

My mix-swap CD's arrived from Molly Yeh and they are amazing - she made this brilliant fold out case for them and also included a classical CD she plays on! Thank so much Molly!

Polaroid Frames!

I love these Polaroid Picture Frames, available on Photojojo! They sell lots of other cool stuff as well, including Polaroid postcards which you can insert any photo into and then post to a fellow Polaroid fan! I once sent a Polaroid to America through the post as a postcard but it sadly never arrived at its destination so this looks a safer bet.

Mayday Weekend

At the weekend my lovely friends visited from Holland.. despite the bad weather we still had a good time, visiting an aquarium in Matlock Bath, playing Mousetrap and Sonic the Hedgehog and eating tapas and chips in a bucket. Oh and we are currently trying to teach our cat Rosie to dance...

Paper People by Sandra Juto

I just stumbled upon the blog of Sandra Juto, an artist living in Gothenberg, Sweden. Some beautiful photos which make me want to visit the country again - the bright sunlight there is unique. Sandra makes these ace paper characters as well and sometimes organises tea swaps via her blog.

Stitching Mini Me's

"Stitch London has teamed up with London’s Science Museum to create a Stitch Yourself exhibit for the re-opening of their Who Am I? gallery in June 2010. You are invited to contribute a tiny Stitched Self and take part in scientific stitching history."
[-from the Stitch London website]

Well last week me and some friends started making our own Mini Me's... here are the results so far! If you want to participate too and make your own stitched or knitted mini version of yourself, just visit the
website here!

Laura is knitting hers.. quite a challenge!

Mine started off resembling a gingerbread man..

Still need to finish the clothes! Mine's on the left but I prefer Katrina's on the right with her rosy cheeks! Funny how different ours came out despite following the same instructions..
