Mix CD Swap!

I have discovered some brilliant bands through various friends sending me mix cd's and tapes over the years; Modest Mouse, Of Montreal and Tanya Donelly to name a few. I am in need of some new music at the moment, so I decided it'd be great to organise a mix-cd swap through this blog. If you would like to participate just leave a comment below and I will get one organised!

Part of the fun for me is making the cd covers, above are a few I have been given by generous folk in the past few years.

Inspiration: Watercolours

At the moment I keep noticing lots of great illustrations done in watercolours.. it makes me want to have a go myself, as I haven't painted anything in years!

Forever blowing bubbles..

There's a lovely video by photographer Katie Sokoler on her blog here, showing the individual stages she took to create a bubble blowing animation on her wall using circles of coloured paper.

Foto Automat

I am hopefully visiting Berlin later this year, and just found out there are a few old-style black and white photo-booths dotted around the town. I'm so excited about that, i hope we find one!

Silhouettes

A while ago I made this card for a friend's birthday using a photo of him as inspiration. I think I'll make some more custom silhouettes as it was fun to do!

I stumbled across these amazing silhouette portraits recently by Katie Soloker and it's really inspired me to experiment more. Aren't they great?

Lomo Love!

Well my latest lomo film didn't come out quite as well as I'd hoped, a lot of pics were too off centre or not close up enough to show off the action. Well, you live and learn, here's a few ones I liked!

Primrose Hill

Had a lovely weekend in London, ending in a climb up Primrose Hill, where this Blur graffiti seen below was spotted (a line from For Tomorrow).. Portobello Road was also gorgeous in the sunshine, if a little busy..
