My typewriter!

As I went home this weekend I decided to bring my typewriter back to Nottingham.. here it is! As you can see the font is unusual, a 70s style font?! I just started typing a letter on it but then the ribbon seemed to stop working, and I really need to wind it on but have forgotten how to open the case! If any typewriter experts are reading this let me know! (It's probably simple!)

I also brought back a few records I'd forgotten I had!

Connecting Polaroids

Ian sent me the link to these polaroid images by French photographer Hana Davies (warning; contains nudity!). I am very tempted to bid on the (expensive) polaroid films that are left on Ebay and then create my own montage...hmm.. Maybe come payday!

Papercut Artwork: Jayme McGowan

I recently ordered a copy of Anorak Magazine - the cycling issue. It arrived last week, and although aimed at kids has the best quality spreads I've seen in a while. The illustrations and photo stories are all so pretty, it's definitely worth checking out.

Another kids' mag worth a look is Small Magazine. The above spread caught my eye (looks better enlarged!) and I found out the artist, Jayme McGowan has a blog here and her work is amazing!

Illustrations - S Britt

[Ah i had such a lovely time at End of the Road festival. There was a magical forest decorated with tree lights, with a piano and some moss covered armchairs, it was so beautiful - although the pictures i took couldn't really capture it.]

I can't remember where I first saw S Britt's work but I thought I'd share some of my favourite pieces. Britt has designed books and sleeves and posters for various record companies, including Sub Pop Records. Be sure to check out his website which is designed like an old board game, plus there are free desktop calendars available too!

More Autumn wardrobe inspiration!

Dear Creatures is a gorgeous 60s-inspired online clothing company (although the store doesn't seem to be functioning yet, booh), with clothes worn by Zooey Deschanel.. too bad it doesn't seem to have any items available in the UK!

Grizzly Bears!

LizzLizz has declared one Thursday a month Grizzly Bear Thursday and is asking people to submit their drawings of Grizzlies to be posted up on this blog. The best each month wins a badge so I hope my friendly bear (Bernard, shown above) is in with a chance!

Outfit Inspiration

I love all these outfits from Kate Spade, just perfect for the Autumn months! I might attempt to recreate them using H&M & Primark as sources heh... (I am loving the owl bag shown above!)

Quentin Blake Exhibition

While I was in London at the Bust Craftacular the other week I also popped into the V&A Museum of Childhood, situated nearby in Bethnal Green, to see the Quentin Blake exhibition (it runs until Sunday).

Like many people I used to love reading Roald Dahl's books as a child and seeing the original artworks up close was brilliant. I'd forgotten completely about some of the books I read when I was younger, like the Enormous Crocodile (below). I think the Witches was probably my favourite book, I wonder what other people would choose?
